In yesterday’s entry, I mentioned the great new noise cancelling headphone that performs almost as well as the Bose® , yet costs $100 less.

The new Solitude ® headphone has as good (they claim better) noise canceling capabilities as the more expensive Bose® .

Bose® still is the industry leader in fidelity, but at $100 less, you have to consider how much the improved fidelity of the Bose® is really worth to you.

When I posted yesterday’s entry, I hadn’t yet put together all the features and specifications of the Solitude® .

Look out Bose® ... There's a new noise cancelling headphone that is almost as good as yours. September 22, 2005 21:33

 
Until recently, I had only recommended two noise cancelling headphones: The Bose Quiet Comfort® headphone (sold for $300 everywhere- no discounts), and the much less expensive, but impressive Plane Quiet® noise cancelling headphones.

But now there is a "new kid on the block". Priced at $200, the Solitude® noise cancelling headphone is giving Bose® a run for their money. They are made by the same company that makes the Plane Quiet® noise cancelling headphones.

The new Solitude® noise cancelling headphones boast equal or slightly better noise cancellation capability than the Bose.
